My name is Tate Roberts. I am from West Chester, Ohio. I am 20 years old and graduated from a small Christian High School, Cincinnati Christian High School. I was born into a Christian household. I was baptized when I was 13. I didn’t really fully understand what baptism was all about, but as I got older, I started to realize what it really meant.
Why I want to go on the World Race:
I know a few people that have gone on the race and I have been praying about the possibility of going for a while. I feel like it is the right time in my life to serve in this way. I want to go on the World Race because I believe God is calling me to go into ministry and this is a good way for me to start. I also want to go because I want to explore all the different types of ministries and maybe even find one that I am more called to. I also want to step out in my faith and out of my comfort zone to explore God’s glory in creation and His beauty in these impoverished parts of the world.
Family:
I live with my mom and a dad and they have been married for 29 years. I have one older brother and one older sister, who has been married for one year. I also have an adopted older brother who is from Jamaica. My family met him when we went on Mission trips to Jamaica to hold basketball camps in an impoverished area of the country. The education in Jamaica is not great and he knew in order to help his family and country he needed a good education. So he came to live with us to study and play basketball. He earned a basketball scholarship to Taylor University and is currently a student there!
I lived in the same house my whole life, but a few months ago we moved across the street!
I had two dogs: TJ, a 14 year old Soft-Coated Wheaton Terrier, who died in May and Maizey, a 4 year old Morkie.
Interests/Hobbies:
I have played soccer my whole life. I played on my High school varsity team and played for a club team outside of school. I like to play golf and basketball with my family and friends. I work at a golf course where my brother-in-law is the head golf Pro. I like to travel with my family and our favorite place is Telluride, CO where we ski. Our family likes to cook and play a lot of games!
