Hello family and friends!

Sorry for the super late update!  I’m super glad to have this opportunity to reach out and let everyone know a little bit about what I’ve been doing the last two months while on mission.

My first 7 weeks were spent in Jaco, Costa Rica working with the ministry, Oceans Edge, and it was great.  In Jaco, I was living in a house with nearly 50 other people, this included 5 teams from H Squad, and a Semesters squad who we had the opportunity to partner with us for the majority of our time.  We had the opportunity to serve the community through service projects and evangelism.  We cleaned parks, painted murals, worshipped publicly, and shared the gospel with locals and tourists alike.

It was amazing to see God working in our lives as well as in our ministry, and an honor to be able to serve with the Semesters squad and watch them grow in their relationships with God along side us.

In our time in Jaco, God grew me in complete obedience by calling me to walk more fully in His giftings.  He called me to operate in discernment of spirits as our squad encountered powers of the enemy, and taught me how to walk in this gift with Him and with others.  Through His grace I grew in discernment, intercession, wisdom, trust, and love as I navigated how to combat the lies of the enemy that were coming over myself and the squad.

Two weeks ago we left Costa Rica for Guatemala, and we will be here another 7 weeks. Our squad has 6 locations so my team is alone this time around.  We’re staying in San Antonio Aguas Calientes partnering with the ministry Worship Room, a community worship oriented ministry, as well as working in and helping our community.  We have the opportunity to go on house visits, help families in need, teach and play soccer with the local children, evangelize, and worship publicly with the community.

Over the last two weeks, and I predict the rest of my time here in Guatemala, God is growing my belief in the unconditional Fatherly love He has for me.  I have never doubted His love for others, and factually I know He loves me, but it’s been a long struggle to fully believe and have security in His unconditional love for me.  I have always felt that my worth in the kingdom is based on my performance; that a failure to act precisely as God wants me in every moment, or a lack of a title in the kingdom meant that God wasn’t proud of me, and that His pride and His love were entirely intertwined and dependent on each other.  God has been using my time here to break these things down and rebuild a foundation of a pure belief in His unconditional love.  I have already seen the fruit of this process start to come in the form of increased peace and feelings of security in God; and I am excited, openhanded, and quite possibly unprepared for where God will take me in these next two months.

I’m so excited for the remainder of our time here and seeing what God has for this community as well as for my team and super grateful to have the opportunity to serve the Lord in this way.

Thank you for all your support and please keep me and my team in your prayers as we continue serving the kingdom.
