JESUS: FATHER

About 3 weeks ago a girl came up to me at Worship Room and said that the Lord wanted her to share something with me. She started with saying “you have a good relationship with your Father right?” I responded with “yes, I have a very good relationship with my father”. She then continued to say “The Lord wants you to see Him as a Father”.

As most of you know I am blessed with the best dadda a daughter could ever ask for. He is intentional and present; I grew up receiving encouraging notes or my lunch already made for me. He is supportive, never missing a game or event that is important to me. He is forgiving, I could do the worst thing imaginable and he would welcome me home with open arms. He is selfless, he gives his time, hard work, energy to both those in need and everyone who surrounds him. He is bold! A father who leads with humility.

As I was praying to the Lord about this, He gave me a vision of me, dirty, broken, hungry, reeking of shame. I was stumbling home not able to look up from the ground. I hear these footsteps pounding, and see Jesus running full speed toward me. He sees my dirt. He see me stumbling in shame. Yet he continued to run full speed toward me with arms wide open. He says “welcome home daughter”.

See nothing I can do will ever change the fact that I am Matt Skattum’s daughter by blood. I could run away forever and still be his daughter. The same is for the Lord. I am His daughter by BLOOD. I am seated with Him in the kingdom. Nothing I can do will ever take that label and truth away from me.

A few months ago when I was in Alabama, my dadda called me and was in tears saying that the first night that I entered this world He prayed that first and foremost, the Lord would be my Father.

If my earthly father loves me without conditions, how much more does my Heavenly Father love me?

JESUS: CREATOR

PSALM 96 in my own words

I bow, nose to the dirt in adoration to the King of Kings

Your name will constantly flows from my lips

I will share of your everlasting love to all the nations

God you are WORTHY WORTHY WORTHY

No other idols can even stand in your presence

Your beauty is untouchable, unexplainable

It radiates through every part of your creation

Abba, you’re the most creative power to ever create

I dance barefoot in your presence just craving a glimpse of your beauty,

a drink of your living water

Worshipping you with everything in me isn’t even nearly enough

The setting sun worships you

The birds sing songs of adoration

The sea shouts your name in boldness, day and night

Your creation dances in freedom

A extravaganza for our creator, for the beautiful Yahweh

JESUS: IDENTITY

She was afraid of herself. Afraid of the alcohol, of the weed.

The consumption of it.

She was beautiful on the outside, filled with shame that chocked her out on the inside.

Deceit was her middle name

Fear held her soul captive in a jail cell, isolated.

Anxiety held the key

Dark smoke left her mouth, only to breathe in more toxins.

A love letter to Jesus

A breathe of freedom, exhaling peace.

She looked at her hands, they were clean.

For the first time since she was a child, she looked into the mirror

To see a pure heart reflecting back at her

She was capable of love

She worshipped her creator

She thank Him for calling her worthy

For calling her forgiven

For calling her righteous
