Guatemala has looked like….
20 kiddos eager to learn, notebook in hand. A chalk board hanging on a tree in the middle of a field, used for English lessons. The smell of horse manure and the sound of laughter as we play Futbol for hours.
Late nights with my people dancing in the rain, praising our creator through art and song.
Praying for people at coffee shops, sweating and sticky sharing the Lords love for His children.
Face painting for hours, telling every single little girl that they are beautifully and wonderfully made. That Jesus calls them princesses.
Walking around Antigua passing out flowers and hugs from Jesus. Buying the homeless lunch and sharing the gospel. Telling them that they are seen and loved.
Delivering food bags to families in San Antonio that we have made connections with, walking alongside them in discipleship and prayer, helping with house chores or playing with their bebes.
Praying over healing and witnessing the Lord heal sickness, hearts, oppression, anxiety, broken bones, and stomach pains.
The World Race didn’t change me, Jesus did.
He has taught me humility, in the hours spent on the roof at El Refugio, dirty legs cramping, hands blistered.
He has taught me what unconditional love feels like, in my teammates who will get on the ground and cry with me.
He has taught me how to persevere through hardships, when I am throwing up for days on end with a parasite.
He has taught me the importance of community, through my squad who speaks truth and life into me when I cannot speak it over myself.
He has taught me that my identity is not found in my righteousness, but His. That His mercies are new every morning without fail.
He has taught me that Him and Him alone is where true joy and love is found, in the center of huge group hugs of the sweet children.
Thank you JESUS!
I am so thankful for each and every one of you. Thank you for your prayers, support, and love these past 9 months.
Love,
