Hi everyone!
My name is Morgan, I’m from Phoenix, Arizona and I am 18 years old. I graduated from high school at the end of May and I am taking a gap year to find direction for the next season of my life and strengthen my relationship with the Lord. As of right now, I am enrolled to attend Grand Canyon University in Fall 2021 to study social work.
I grew up as a pastor’s kid, accepting Christ into my life before I was really aware of what that meant. Just as I started Kindergarten, my Dad took a job as the youth pastor of a church in the East Valley. I was baptized by my Dad in that church. When I turned 12, we took a sabbatical road trip all over the western U.S. and visited a church in Tacoma, Washington. The wonderful people there taught me how to walk in intimacy with God, and it changed my life. From there, God led my family away from youth ministry and towards college ministry. We went all in, moving onto a university campus and inviting students into our home, and I have lived here at the ASU Polytechnic campus for the past seven years.
I have struggled to break free from the path that has been set for me. God is calling me away from school for a year to serve and grow in Him. I am excited to go work in Latin American countries with ministries serving people in need. I am so thankful for all of the people coming alongside me and supporting me through this journey. It has already begun teaching me to depend on the Lord and I don’t leave until January! I am so excited and terrified, but I know that this will be a pivotal point in my life.
I would love for you to become part of my team! Whatever that looks like for you, I would be blessed to have you with me. Two ways you can support me are through fundraising and prayer. Fundraising is a little intimidating to me, but I know that because God is in this, He will provide everything I need. If you are able to give at this time, I would be very grateful. But more importantly, I need prayer throughout these months of preparation and into my trip. Please be praying for me as God guides me forward – that I listen to His voice and follow without fear.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. I hope this helps you to know a little more about my walk with God and I am excited to be a part of this greater journey!
