COME AS YOU ARE. CAYA
Jesus takes us in any way shape or form. Broken, bruised, and ashamed, He still loves us and forgives us anyways.
Jesus says:
“I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never will be thirsty. But you haven’t believed in me even though you have seen me. However, those the Father has given will come to me, and I will never reject them.” (John 6: 35-37)
Jesus clearly says, WHOEVER BELIEVES IN ME, Jesus does not discriminate. Jesus welcomes everyone in with open arms.
How did we choose this as our team name? It’s a pretty cool story let me tell ya!
My team leader Maggie, went on the World Race last year and when she got home she wrote in her journal that she felt called to begin a women’s ministry called “Come As You Are”. Maggie also prayed that she would Team Lead this year and we would name our team “Come As You Are”. HERE’S THE THING!! She NEVER told us she prayed for us to name it that. We all prayed over our team ideas and we were all in agreement with CAYA, the acronym for Come As You Are. Thanks God!
This name feels so specific for our team. We are all so different from one another but each of us brings so much to the table. My teammates are Sophia, Millie, Abby, and Sarah. I’m so thankful for these special ladies in my life. They love like Jesus does.
Random fun fact! Caya has a double meaning! In Greek, Caya means pure. Scripture reads, “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.” (Isaiah 1:18). When we come as we are and confess our sins, Jesus renews us and makes us pure again.
