Okay so I just wanted to take a moment to share an amazing moment from God that happened to me and a friend about a week ago on May 8th. This friend had just been on the world race and was only home because of the corona virus. Since he had been on the race already I wanted to ask him for some advice and since neither of us liked talking through the phone for a conversation like that we decided to meet somewhere and talk face to face. We both decided to meet at a park in Marion. So we met and sat down at a bench and was talking about the race and some stuff on it and I asked kinda what a general day was like. He tried to explain it but every day is different so it was kinda hard for him to explain. About when he was almost done explaining some random stranger walks up and out of the blue asks if what we were doing was a bible study. Neither of us had anything with us that would seem like a item for a bible study so the question kinda shocked us. We both looked at each other and both like visually agreed to say yes. Once we said yes that it was a bible study the strangers face lit up. He started talking about how he had been needing prayer because he was fighting addiction and was having relationship problems and only had like those clothes that were on him. My friend and I then asked if we could pray right then and he said yes so we got to pray for blessing on his life and Gods guidance and help for him. After that we were talking some more and the dude was talking about how he was trying to get his life right and it was mentioned that we were there talking about the mission trip I was about to go on and this dude gave me $20, which was most of his money, and said I needed it more than him. I wanted to cry because this guy was so nice that he gave me, a complete stranger, money for my trip even when he was homeless. The conversation continued and the guy mentioned that he wanted to start reading the bible so I asked him if he wanted a bible to read and he said yes. So I ran over to my car and grabbed the bible out of the back that I had had for over a year in case I ever met someone that needed one. I slipped the $20 back into the front pages because I felt that since he was homeless he needed it more than me and ran back over to them. My friend pointed out some scripture to help encourage the guy and the dude said thanks and then he left. Once he was gone my friend looked at me and was like ” that was honestly the best example of what the race is like and I couldn’t have explained it as well as that experience just did.” I believe that God wanted my friend and me in that park so that we could bless that guy and hopefully help him come to the lord but also so that God could show me a glimpse of what living for him looks like. This experience has blessed me so much I’d break quarantine everyday and run the risk of corona virus if I knew something like this would every time I went out side. Anyways just figured I’d share that so that God could receive the glory for some of the good things he’s doing during quarantine.
