some of you have been asking why i’m raising money & if i donate where is that money going? hopefully this will help answer some of your questions!
fundraising is one of the hardest things i have done in my life, and although i should be used to it by now, it doesn’t get easier. i have yet to find the exact words to say because my mind seems to go blank when talking about money! fundraising is a HARD task but it is also a sweet journey that the Lord calls us to be a part of! it is even more so about finding a community to walk along side me and support me in what the Lord has called me into in the next season of my life.
Adventures in Missions has asked my squad and i to raise roughly $18,000 for this route in January. the biggest chunk of that money is going straight towards us racers for our needs on the field. which covers all expenses on the field such as food, housing, transportation, insurance, etc. the only things not covered by this amount are our own personal expenses such as, up front medical costs, adventure days, and travel day food. i am also responsible for purchasing my gear before launch in January of 2021, so i’m also pitching a lot into my goal! that includes several items such as a backpack, tent, day pack, sleeping bag, etc.
below are my fundraising deadlines that have been set by AIM. these deadlines are mandatory and EXTREMELY important.
9/24/2020 – $5,000 (a few weeks before training camp)
12/16/2020 – $10,000 (a few weeks before launch)
2/28/2021 – $13,000 (end of 2nd full month in the field)
4/30/2021 – $17,900 TOTAL DUE (end of 4th full month in the field)
