As everyone is well aware by now, COVID-19 has had a huge effect on the world as a whole. Most people are unemployed right now. As a missionary, this time is extremely devastating. The world does not revolve around me and the plans for my life, I am well aware…with all of that being said, this has made a HUGE impact on how my fundraising is going. Because obviously, how can I expect people to donate funds to my WR when they are struggling to make ends meet with no job?
I’ve been trying to keep everyone up to date with how my trip is being changed due to the coronavirus. Long story short, right now, nothing important has really changed. At this time, I am being asked to hold off on making travel plans for my launch date because things could ultimately still change. It’s all kind of up in the air. My training camp dates have been adjusted, but as of right now my launch date is still set in January. Logistics are still being worked through and there are no specifics.
Here’s how you can help in this season: be praying for funding – as I mentioned, this is extremely hard right now. be praying for my squad and I to find peace in whatever decisions are made by WR staff, we trust in them and know that they are ultimately just following what God is asking of them and what they think is best for all of us and our safety. continue to check my blog and my facebook for fundraising updates! right now i have two open fundraisers, the biggest one being my t-shirt fundraiser (https://www.bonfire.com/deeply-rooted-1/).
I’m praying for each of you, for our country and leaders and for the missionaries around the world who are having to return home due to the uncertainty of what’s going on around them.
