Hey guys!
Just wanted to put out a quick blog about the construction ministry we’ve been doing here in the Dominican Republic. So the groundskeeper here at Mission of Hope is an incredible friend of ours. He does SO much for us and this ministry, and currently he’s building him and his a home! He lives here on base in a house that the church owns, but he’s preparing his own house to move into hopefully by the end of this year, which is so exciting. SO we have the opportunity to help him with it! Basically it’s a house made out of a shipping container that he bought about a year ago. The main thing we’ve been working on is leveling out the property so that he’s able to build more around the container. His plan is to build some extensions around the house.
Manual labor is amazing. Honestly it’s an answer to prayer for a lot of people here. SMT is AMAZING, but it’s also very spiritually draining, and we’ve been praying for something to change the pace a bit and give us a chance to really get our hands dirty. Well that’s exactly what the Lord provided! As of right now we’re doing construction ministry about 1 or 2 days a week depending on what the need is. Most of what we’re doing right now consists of shoveling and pick-axing our way through piles of rubble and getting the foundation ready for more work, but soon we’ll be making our way to the inside of the house to work on the renovations. PUMPED.
So that’s the super brief version, but here’s a video I made about all of this, so I hope you guys enjoy!
