Dear family and friends,

Hello, I hope that you are doing great!  It is crazy to think that I am finally a senior and will be graduating at the end of May.  While others are preparing to go to college, I have decided on a different path. I feel that the Lord has called me to participate in the World Race Gap Year.  World Race Gap Year is a program through Adventures in Missions that sends young adults on a nine month missionary journey that focuses on discipleship, prayer, and the relationship between God and his people.  I am so blessed to have been accepted into this program in order to bring the Word of the Lord and His love all around the World!

I have gone on week-long missions trips to Peru with my church, but this ministry opportunity is more involved, covering a broader area and lasting nine months.  In September 2020, I will be leaving to travel to Costa Rica, Guatemala, Thailand, and eSwatini. I will be in each country for a few months. Although each country, month, week, and even day will look different, some of the things that my team and I will be doing include Camp Ministry, Feeding Program, Sex Trafficking Ministry, Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, Evangelism, Manual Labor, Community Outreach and Development, Sports Ministry, Teaching English, and Leadership.

You also get to be a part of this amazing journey.  There are two easy ways in which you could partner with me before and during this ministry adventure.

Prayer:

  • For me and my team, that we would grow together in the name of the Lord. Pray that each of our gifts be used to bring Him glory.

  • For the people we will encounter. That we can use our stories to make connections and form awesome, lasting relationships with God!

  • Over the number $15,800. That is the amount I need in order to go on this wonderful journey that God has planned, and the last thing I would want to get in the way would be money!

Financial support:

I will need to raise $15,800.  I ask that you please pray about financially supporting me during this mission.  Any amount will be appreciated and will help more than you think. My fundraising goal includes the cost for training, travel, lodging, food, and any other necessities that I will need along the way.  I know that the God who called me to this is faithful to provide. While you may not be traveling to a distant country, you are still doing something significant by enabling me to walk out my call and be the hands and feet of Jesus. By supporting this mission, you are a part of God’s Kingdom work!

  • You can financially support my ministry by either of these two ways:

    • Via my blog (https://meganhodges.theworldrace.org). Not only does this act as a place for donations, but I will also be posting regularly about my journey, please subscribe.  If you would prefer email updates, please let me know.

    • By check. Please make all checks payable to Adventures in Missions with my name on the memo line. I have enclosed a fundraising card that must be filled out and sent with your check to the address listed on the card.

Thank you so much ahead of time for all of the prayers and financial gifts; I greatly appreciate it.  I am so excited to see what God will do for me, my team, and the people we reach out to. If you want to talk or have any questions I would love to talk to you.  You can contact me by email [email protected], or call/text me at (814) 248-0357.

In Christ,

Megan Hodges
