(side note: READ THE BOOK CAPTIVATING BY: JOHN AND STASI ELDREDGE)
captivating: “capable of attracting and holding interest; charming.”
how beautiful that word is… captivating.
it honestly brings a little smile to my face 🙂

well, i’m here to tell you that i’ve been reading a book called “Captivating”, and it has rocked my world. it’s the womens version of the book “Wild At Heart.” (for men.)
this book talks about how women are absolutely captivating and about how we are so beautiful. we share so many of the Lord’s characteristics, and it’s absolutely CAPTIVATING.
although this book has been incredible and has been affirming to my heart, i can’t help but keep coming across the same struggle as i continue reading:
who am i? who has the Lord made me to be? am i captivating?
the reason i struggle with this, is because i’m not the quiet girl that picks flowers and loves to wear little dresses with my hair down. i’m not the super brave girl who can go cliffjumping and can tell anyone off the way it is. i’m not always honest with myself, and with others. i have a tough time loving sometimes and being too strong or not strong enough…
so where do i fit in? what has the Lord placed inside my heart while making me? what characteristics did he want me to have of Him and what did He want the world to learn from me? i challenge you to ask yourself, who am i? who did he make me to be?
so, for you:
i encourage you to find who the Lord made you to be. i encourage you to see how He is romancing you; giving you sunsets, stars in the sky, the smell after it rains… what He is giving you and how He endlessly loves you and has made you absolutely, perfectly and utterly captivating. i encourage you to continue loving yourself and who you are, because true beauty comes from within, and every woman is filled with the Lord’s beauty and heart.
i won’t deny, this is a hard process, but one that is so, so worth it. it allows you to dig deep within yourself and find who you really are. what grinds your gears, what makes you laugh the hardest, and what really, and truly gives you life.
it allows for healing because you finally realize that you no longer have to strive to be someone else. it allows for heartache, and healing, and all of the beautiful heartthrobs that come with it. this process really, fully allows you to love to the full capacity and allows you to see yourself through the creators eyes. because trust me, you are absolutely, perfectly, and utterly
captivating.
