Warning: If you are squeamish over blood or pain I would recommend that you do not watch this.(Edit: I decided not to post the video, but if you really want to see it just dm me.)
The other day some of my teammates went to a hotel cafe to have some coffee and use the WiFi. After an hour or so we were asked to leave or order more of the menu. We were a little sad to be kicked out but decided to leave and go get lunch. On our way, we ran into some other squamates and chatted it up for a bit. They recommended that we go check out this taco place. So we said goodbye and headed towards a little taco spot.
On our way we saw two teenagers on bikes, one was in the middle of the road and the other was on the roof of the local ice cream place. Yes! On the roof with a Bmx bike. No one seemed to be complaining or questioning what was going on. So I thought this guy must be a professional BMX athlete or something so I pulled out my phone and began to record and prepared to see something amazing. What happened next was something I never expected. The guy jumped off the roof of the store with his bike, crashing into the ground, slapping his head against the pavement instantly knocking himself unconscious. It was at this moment I realized he was no professional. In fact he was just a kid on a bike.
After the initial shock, I stop the recording, and the kid started seizing. Not knowing what else to do, I immediately went over there and started praying. Having done MMA in the past and being a huge fan of combat sports I’ve seen many people be knocked out, so I also know that head strikes to the back of the head are extreamly dangerous and this kid just slammed really hard.
I was probably about a foot from him when he stopped moving. People started gathering around him and someone started doing chest compressions.
I’m not sure why; maybe it was nerves, maybe it was fear, but I was a little apprehensive to touch him when He was seizing. However, when he stopped moving, with both hands I reached down and placed the tips of my fingers on the sides of his head.
I’m not sure exactly what I said, but it went something like this “ God that you would spare his life, that he would have no concussion or brain damage, that he would get up right now in the name of Jesus.”
After I said that He then woke up and started slowly moving. People helped him sit up as medics arrived then I quickly walked off and continued towards the taco shop still a little jarred about what just happened
I’m not someone to over-spiritualize things, but I really think God strategically placed us there to pray for that kid. I believe everything from being kicked out of the cafe, to our friends stopping on the street was all God’s timing.
In all transparency, I’ve seen healing before, but part of be struggles if He can use/ wants to use me in that area. It’s only the power of Jesus that will bring such healing, but sometimes I think I’m not “holy” enough to be used in that way. I know that’s a silly thought, and I would even tell somone in my shoes ” Of course he wants to use you”… I think the Lord is breaking down feeling of unworthiness and speaking into my identity.
Anyway, I just wanted to update you guys on my life.
Thanks for all the prayer,
Love y’all,
Ty
