Hey guys!!
Back with another blog post! I want to start this off by saying thank you to all of you who have donated to my mission trip thus far! It means a lot. As of current, I have $981 out of the $5,450. Stoked!
Anyways, I just wanted to share some of the things that I have learned in the past week. When you think of Jesus, you probably think of how awesome he is. He did so much for you and me. He performed many miracles and loved everyone. He shared himself with all of us and gave us an opportunity to join him one day in heaven. Awesome, right?
What I want to focus on is how Jesus was on this earth. Not necessarily all the miracles, but the persona of Jesus. How he loved everyone, how he saw everyone for who they actually are, and not choosing to be offended by those who afflicted. Jesus responded in love. Every time.
As CHRISTians we are called to do the same. Whether someone cut you off in traffic, calls you names, or even hits you. We are called to love. Jesus, as he was on the cross, prayed to God as people were throwing things at him and crucifying him. “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34) Jesus also healed the ear of the guard that was arresting him, when Peter cut it off. (John 18) Amongst many other stories, Jesus is consistent in being love.
One thing I’m learning is that it is important to switch our perspectives. To put on our “Jesus Goggles” and see people with the eyes of love and compassion. That’s what following Jesus entails. Put off yourself and live in him. One of the sayings we use here at LCU quite often when we see someone getting offended or taking things too seriously is “Hey ___ die to your flesh. Live in Jesus.” Often times it’s in jest but it is a great reminder to put off the flesh and live in Jesus.
When we are “born again” and choose to follow Jesus, our old spirit is replaced by a new one and we are made new. But it doesn’t stop there. We have a responsibility to live as Jesus did and when we fall into bad habits to repent and keep going. We are here to share the Kingdom with those who don’t have it. We are to love and see others with compassion.
Just some things for you guys to think about and hopefully check yourself on. We are all here to glorify him and share him with everyone we can.
I am still searching for support for my trip, prayer for funds and for funds themselves would be amazing. If you feel it on your heart to give, above is a donate button that will take you directly to my link. I appreciate anything. Thanks so much!
As always MUCH LOVE FAM! Choose Love,
