Finally, back to blogging. Getting back into the swing of things after the holiday’s always seems to be hard. Now, In the past several months, we have all lived through something unimaginable. As we know, this virus has changed our “normal” lives and for most people, it’s given us a new way to look at things. Basically, don’t take things for granted.
With everything happening in the world, I have opened my heart even more and started to form my new “why” to going on this 11-month journey.
This virus has been a huge shock to everyone. It’s put everyone in the unknown and has left many people feeling lost and in discomfort. Yes, it’s a crazy time and our lives are nowhere near close to normal but in a sense, we are luckier than most. We still are able to call our friends and family. We are still able to go out to get those essential things we “think” we need. Although, the situation isn’t ideal, we do have it better than most. We have those essential items, amazing health care workers, and other essential workers. They are the some of the reason why so many people continue to have faith in this situation.
So why am I talking about this you ask. One of the many reasons, I chose to apply for the World Race was because of being able to help and restore faith in so many people. Lately, this virus has made me think about these people even more. I want to help others who are always in this unknown. I want to be the faith to those people who have lived with almost close to nothing. For those people who can’t see their family, go get that toilet paper, etc. For these people, this virus probably isn’t and hasn’t been their major concern. There are people in the world who deal with these tragedies on a daily basis. And because of this, I’m sure they have lost hope in a lot of things. While, here, we have others to lift our hopes up.
This is WHY.
I want you to take a step back as you’re reading this and try to imagine being in another country where surviving and feeling this sense of unknown is common. I want to give these people hope that in times like these. God is with us. He stands with us and will protect us.
In times like these, we are all scared. It’s important to be there for one another and we are lucky to have that. I want to spread the love to everyone else in this world.
Reflecting on our current situation, I have turned to the Bible for comfort. In John 3:16, He gave up his only son and his son’s life. He did this so we could all be together. This was sacrificial giving. I think a lot of us get caught up in life and almost forget this. We as humans take many things for granted, and I think this is one of those things. He gave up such a pivotal aspect of his life and right now we are only being asked to give up the simple luxuries. It’s in times like these when it puts the sacrifice into perspective.
Let’s live for God and show the world the love of God. We need each other more than ever during this time.
I hope you are all staying healthy during this time and I pray for safety and feeling comfort again.
