here’s a journal entry from February 29, 2020. the day after i found out someone i knew committed suicide. been reading this entry a lot these days.

just wanted to share…

that’s it

that’s the thing about death.

when people die,

their story isn’t over.

Ron Frisbee, a fantastic man of God told me that during a time of trial i was in that he could relate to.

the concept of death is so beyond difficult.

it has deep impacts that resonate outwards in

every aspect of how we carry ourselves

from that moment forward.

and with this generation, it seems to be plaguing our minds in so many ways.

and yes, it’s difficult to witness the repercussions.

yes, it’s difficult to cope with.

and yes, a lot of people are terrified of it.

but here’s the thing.

no matter how hard it is to lose someone and to grasp the concept of their absence,

don’t let that ruin what’s left.

what remains when a person moves on from this life with us is something

so beautiful and irreplaceable

and maybe even inexplicable.

let the effect the situation has on you take place.

let that person’s experience matter.

whatever they went through, let it help someone.

let that persons life have an impact after the fact, regardless of what impact it had during.

let the presence of their absence ring out.

let.

it.

matter.

let it be heard.

let it be used.

let it be something new.

let it be.
