Hello everybody! My name is Rebecca Kilby and I am so beyond excited to announce that I will be joining the World Race Gap year 2020- 2021. Recently I chose route 3. This route contains Ethiopia, Swaziland, and Cambodia. I decided this route was was what my heart was being pulled to. Ever since I was little, my mom and I wanted to travel to Asia and Africa, but never had the opportunity. When the routes were released and I saw my options, I automatically knew this was where I needed to be. Mission work is something that I have always been passionate about, and I can’t think of a better way to see the world, spread the love of God, and practice my passions of mission work, then going on the World Race.
This past summer I interned at a missionary in Costa Rica, called 6:8 Ministries. This was my second time doing mission work with them, and as the days flew by, I grew such a love and passion for the community and what the ministry was doing. While I was on my internship, I decided to apply for the Gap year, and next thing I knew I was having a phone interview talking about the next steps. Throughout this process, God has been so prominent in every step along the way. He spoke to me while I was in Costa Rica, through my friends, and family. I gained so much perspective and learned how to give my full heart into mission work. I cant wait to grow a bond with the others taking on route 3, and to see how God moves in all of us throughout this whole process.
