Training camp was truly great!! The mission trip is still not quite feeling real, yet. Everything just feel like a week at camp. Although don’t hear me wrong camp is great, but training camp had been amazing! Everyone here wants to be here and wants to actually grow closer and drive in deeper to the path that God has intended for us. I didn’t see a single person with a phone in any of the session, no one was talking and messing around during worship. And everyone was serious about learning as much as they could. IT WAS GREAT! We were at training camp for 3 days and spiritually it has felt like a month! We have seen the Lord work in so many different ways and revel Himself so many times, its been awesome! It was also really cool that we weren’t the only team at training. There was 5 teams. Some going to India/Napal, Thiland/Cambodia, South Africa, and another going to South America which that one is for 6 months. It was fun meeting new people and seeing how God is working all over the US in other people’s lives.
Some of the teachings we had:
-how to be a good guest at the host families and missionaries place
-DBS Bible studies
-topic on the Holy Spirit
-not a class but, lots and lots of worship
When we arrived at the airport we meet some of the other squad members and a most of our own members. We packed into Vans and drove about an hour to training camp. There we played some games, and got to know our squad a little bit. The next few days were pack with seasons and team time, we even got some squad war games in. Each meal that we ate was from a different. That was really cool! They gave us two trays of food and we had to share family style. As well as they have us a discription of the country and it’s do’s and don’ts. A lot of my squad got to try eating with their hands for the first time.
Our squad is really great! There is 16 of us and two leaders so 18 total. There are two guys and the rest are girls. So far they have been troopers putting up with us girls. We all get along really well. There hasn’t been any conflict so far or negativity. So we have two smaller teams within our squad as well. We got to do some team building activities and that’s been a lot of fun! We workee together well by listen and try everyone’s ideas and have gotten a lot closer because of it. We became a family really quick! I’m really grateful for everyone in our family and the different walks of life we all come from!
