Hey guys! Okay, so little kids love playgrounds. The second they get to a playground, the first thing they do is run around, overwhelmed with decisions of what to do, what to play with or on first. They might choose to swing, swinging as high as their legs allow them and then despite how dangerous it might be, they jump off. Or they might choose to run up the playground stairs to the top of the slide where they can launch themselves down the tall slides, just to run back to the top and do it again. Or they might choose to run to the spinning merry-go-round type equipment, spinning themselves to the point of dizziness and nausea. Plot twist: those kids at the playground were 12 young adults on my squad, including myself. After a long day of ministry a couple days ago, we decided to take a late night walk and stumbled upon a playground in the middle of DeQuincy, Louisiana. Something that’s been on my mind a lot recently is how we’re called children of God. He is our Father, we are his children. Children play, they have fun: reckless, joyous fun. When they have fun, they have no sense of what could go wrong because they know that if something were to happen, they’ll be taken care of, they’ll be loved and protected. They have full, complete trust in their Father. That’s us with God. We are constantly reminded of His love and grace in everything we do, big things and little things. Finding complete joy and peace with the Father will allow you do be reckless and joyous surrounded in His love and care. So go, play on that playground, swing on that swing, play games with the joy and excitement of a child, because you are His child. We are sons and daughters of Christ. Thanks for reading! Keep an eye out for the next couple blog posts, I’ve got some exciting news:) Love, Quincy
