By now you’ve undoubtedly heard about the impact of COVID-19 on the world and our nation. At Adventures in Missions, we, too, have been impacted by this virus.
This decision was not made lightly, and it was made with the safety and security of our participants at the forefront of our mind. While we are all grieving a season that is far from our expectations, we firmly believe this was the best decision for our participants, their families and our ministry partners around the world.
We are sure that you continue to have questions about your upcoming trip. As of today, we continue to assess the impact and spread of COVID-19 in order to determine what is best for your upcoming trip. While we are all uncertain of what the coming weeks will bring, we also know that this, too, shall pass in time. Therefore, we remain confident and hopeful that we will still be able to launch trips this fall.
In light of the impact of COVID-19 on our nation and nations around the world, we have made changes to our World Race October schedule for both Training Camp and Launch. We believe these changes dramatically increase the likelihood of your trip launching and effectively ministering to those around the world. That being said, we have had to adjust several things in regards to your trip. The adjustments are as follows:
-
Training Camp Oct 9-16th
Please hold off on booking travel at this point. We are still working through logistics and timing and do not yet have specifics. We are committed to communicating as soon as we can confirm details. Know that all of these events are still going to take place at our headquarters in Gainesville, Georgia.
We fully recognize this is a departure from what you’ve signed up for, and for that, we are incredibly sorry for this inconvenience. The reality is COVID-19 has impacted our summer & fall schedule in a significant way. We look forward to adjusting our schedule with you and your family so that you can go into the nations well-trained and prepared for what God has for you!
We realize you likely have additional questions. As we have specifics regarding the implications of these adjustments, our team will reach out with those plans. We know that there are many details to determine: logistical concerns, deadlines, fundraising, and more.
We look forward to talking through this change and addressing any questions you have. Our Admissions team is available via text, call or email, so please do not hesitate to reach out to your advisor. We are grateful for you and are praying for you and your family during this time!
