Back in December 2019 when I first committed to the World Race, I thought I would be packing to leave for Africa September 2nd. But because of Covid-19 the plans have changed. Instead a group of young adults (around 150) and I will be staying at the World Race headquarters in Gainesville Georgia training to be a missionary. Then in January we will hopefully be able to fly overseas to Africa and Cambodia. In Georgia I will be building meaningful friendships and strengthening my intimacy with God. I am a part of a team of six other girls. Although we have not met each other in person, we have Zoomed and texted and I am so excited to get to know each one of them even more! During our first Zoom call together, my team leader was sharing with us what God had been putting on her heart about our team that week. She said that she believed that our team was going to be built on love. Because of that we decided to name our team ‘agape’, which is the greek word for love. I am so happy that the Adventures in Missions team have found a way around this pandemic where we can still worship and grow our relationship with God together. Although this is different than what I anticipated, when I felt the call to do this God already knew what the new plans were going to be… and I am right where he wants me. 🙂
I am now over 85% funded with just about $2000 left to raise until I am fully funded! Thank you all so so much for the support! I will post here more regularly when I am in the field so I hope you will follow along to hear about my adventure!
