Today was another day full of tears, yet, in that, the Lord had convicted me this morning that ministry isn’t over just because I could’ve had the opportunity to do that here in Thailand. He reminded me that even though through the destruction of this fallen world, He came to simply save it.
Instead of sulking in sadness and self-pity for what seemed to feel like forever over what could’ve happened during our time of ministry here and the things we could’ve seen and done through the help of Holy Spirit, I felt His nearness and presence as I sat in bed. It gave me the time and space to reflect and to really have a heart-to-heart with Jesus. I told Him every little thing that I was feeling in that specific moment and just everything I had to say and question about.
In that time of reflection, He opened up my heart and spiritual eyes to the fact that we’re being sent home to bring revival…to awaken the dry bones in this valley of deep fear and to reveal the Lord’s salvation to not just the people here, but to bring us back to our communities to be that light He has called each and every single one of us to be! Yes, there is still time here and there are many people here we’re able to talk with in all sorts of locations to share Jesus with, but I really felt like Cambodia was a season of preparation for what’s to come…and this is it. It’s time. It’s now.
The recent breakout of the coronavirus has brought the world into so much panic and so much reliance on earthly and materialistic things that we think could “cure” or help “satisfy” us in this time of urgent need, but the only cure, the only help, the only satisfaction that’ll truly work and that truly holds the power to resurrect the dead to life is through God’s Son, Jesus.
I am so thankful for one of my squad leaders, Hannah, and all the nuggets of wisdom the Lord prompts her with. The revelations we encountered together at a really cute and aesthetic coffee shop not too far from our hostel today only happened because she had invited me to go with her. If the initial invitation wasn’t there, the deep and Spirit-led conversation we had would’ve never happened. It’s not a coincidence that today is 03/16/2020. It’s not a coincidence that this is the 16th blog post I’ve written. It’s not a coincidence that John 3:16 is very much applicable right now in this sea of disease. Spirit sprinkles were droppin from all over the place and it was so cool to hear what Jesus had to say through each of us. As she was flipping through her Bible to find John 3:16, she stopped and saw a subtitle of “Jesus Came to Save the World,” in John 12. Right below that, we read aloud John 12:44-50, which in her translation says, “and Jesus cried out and said, ‘whoever believes in Me, believes not only in Me, but in Him who sent Me. And whoever sees Me sees Him who sent Me. I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in Me may not remain in darkness. If anyone hears My Words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. The one who rejects Me and does not receive My Words has a judge; the Word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day. For I have not spoken on My own authority, but the Father who sent Me has Himself given me a commandment – what to say and what to speak. And I know that His commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me.’” Hannah had mentioned and reminded me that Jesus’ purpose was to save us. And He only came to save us. God is the judge. Holy Spirit is the convictor. And in John 3:17, “God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.”
After reading that, we began to talk more about what Holy Spirit was putting on our hearts, which ultimately led us into a prayer of salvation and revival over the entire globe.
The song lyrics of “come awaken Your people, come awaken Your city. God of revival, pour it out, pour it out…” from the song “God of Revival,” by Bethel, holds so much power and assurance that the Lord will come awaken this nation…this world in His timing and we get to be a part of that. We get to be included in saving the souls of our lost brothers and sisters all around the world and to introduce them to a pursuit of holiness and righteousness, eternal life, Jesus, and Heaven. How freaking cool?!?!?!?!?!? It’s not something we have to do, it’s something we GET to do on a day to day basis, whether we’re on the mission field or not. Ministry never stops. The gospel never stops. His love never stops. So we should never stop evangelizing either.
Church, come together and pray with me for the salvation over this hurting world. Pray for the fire and revival of the Lord to come from Heaven and awaken these dry bones back to life! Pray that hearts and souls are open and willing to hear and receive eternal life with Him! Pray that every knee bows down and confesses the name of the Lord! Pray that He would use us mightily in such a time as this!
John 3:16, “for this is how God loved the world: He gave His One and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”
Revival is now. Let’s be ready to jump for joy and celebrate the Lord’s work. LET’S GO!!!
