The lyrics from the song, “Reflection” in Mulan, “when will my reflection show who I am inside,” popped up in my head today at the coffee shop. It made me think about who and what I’ve been reflecting. The Lord gave me this:
Mariah, my beloved daughter, you reflect all that you need to, and that is Me.
My love, My peace, My kindness, My gentleness.
And you reflect more than you may think you know.
You’re not reflecting yourself, you’re reflecting Me and what I have to offer.
That is LIFE!
That is LOVE!
That is HEAVEN!
That is ETERNITY WITH ME!
You are supposed to be right where you are at this moment.
Allow Me to work and move through you.
Allow Me to reveal Myself to every single person you encounter.
You are doing this because of me, not because of you.
Keep it up. I am so proud of you, Mariah.
I am well-pleased with you.
I love you.
I had to sit for a little while and ask Him if I should share this. My intentions are solely to share what Holy Spirit is speaking to me rather than speaking in a prideful way.
It also reminded me of the time when my pastor asked us this riddle:
“What’s in water, but not wet?”
The answer is your reflection. What are you reflecting? What am I reflecting? What are we reflecting?
As followers and believers of Christ, we reflect God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit and all of their characteristics that have been uniquely entwined into the depths of our hearts and souls. We reflect His fruits. We reflect His goodness and creation to the world. We reflect so much more than what the world has to offer, unless we choose otherwise, and that says a lot about who God is and what we are capable of through Him.
Looking in a mirror, do you see beauty? Do you see love? Do you see a masterpiece? Do you see workmanship? Do you see that you were bought with a price that nobody could ever pay than Jesus Christ Himself? Do you see your worth? Do you see that you are wonderful? Do you see that you are made perfect and whole in His image? Do you see you see that you are a light? Do you see your unique giftings? Do you see what He has made you to be? Do you see the fruits you bear?
All of these are what He says about us in His Word, the truth, the Bible. So believe it! Receive it! Live in it! Produce more healthy and good fruit!
I encourage you to sit with the Lord. Go and reflect. Prune out what needs to be pruned. Refocus. Center your heart, mind, body, and soul unto Him.
Galatians 5:22-23, “but the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”
