When we think of roll call, we think of attendance. What do you usually say when someone calls on your name in a class setting? The typical response is usually “here” or “present.”

Being PRESENT here in this beautiful country of Cambodia in Southeast Asia, I’ve been able to say, “HERE I am, Lord.”

He has shown up multiple times not only during these past few travel days and at training camp, but also right when we landed here in Cambodia. Some things are unexplainable. Some things are personal. Some things I would love to share.

One of the things I wanna share is that I became convicted of wanting to be on my phone as much as I get to be when I’m at home. And as much as I wanna talk to my family and update all of my peeps and supporters back home, I LOVE that I don’t have access to international data. It’s given me the time and space to really explore and take in all that God has made here. It’s helped me reflect and really grow in the Word multiple times throughout each and every day. I have been refreshed in ways I haven’t before.

I have never really been a morning person, but I truly feel the Spirit wakes me up early in the morning before breakfast for me to spend time with Him and to really dive into the Word and to sit and reflect in the beautiful surroundings around me. I feel ready and equipped to do whatever the Lord tells me to do. I feel empowered by the Holy Spirit! I feel so sharpened. I love it so much!

It’s the simple things that have touched my heart, too. A nice hello. A smile. A hug. A high five. A kid wanting you to pick them up. A home cooked meal at our guest house. A nap. A clear view of the stars at night and the sunsets. A hard-working village. A day with beautiful rain. A coffee in a hammock. And a lot more.

Another thing the Lord has taught me is to rest. Our Sabbath day is on Friday and we have another rest day on Saturday. It has been so nice to catch up on some much needed rest. I feel so energized and well-rested! It helps me feel ready for the day!

Thanks for keeping up with me, friends! Until I have wifi next week!
