Training camp. What a time. What a place. What amazing people (on all teams). What amazing worship. What amazing sessions. What interesting kinds of food. What powerful encounters with Holy Spirit. What closeness and trust we have as a squad already when we had just met for the first time three days ago and somehow feels as if it’s been years of knowing them.
There’s so much I could say about what I’m experiencing here – both the good and the bad…like the gleam of light in people’s eyes when they speak about Jesus orrrrr like the porta-potties and how your tush gets blown with cold air. It’s been a lot of fun. I’d say it’s a pretty good balance. I’m excited to fly out tomorrow morning.
I have learned so much over these past couple of days. It has been super informative and easy to understand. It has been more than what I had expected. It has helped me tap into the things unseen, whether that be spiritual gifts or revelations or just seeing the Spirit of the Lord moving so heavily in the lives of others. It has helped me become more equipped in this calling. It has birthed a new intimacy with the Lord that I haven’t had before.
We all have our own take-ons, perspectives, and expectations of what a training camp would be like. This camp has exceeded all of them and I’m glad it did. What we learned from here is not just for when we’re out on the mission field, but for every day ministry and our lives in general.
Two quotes that stuck out to me were these:
-
“Just because you might be the only one today, doesn’t mean you’ll be the only one tomorrow.”
This quote was said by a squad member from a different team, but to put this into context, we all had been talking about what if you were the only Christ follower in your friend groups, in your families, etc. It was so powerful to hear that.
-
“God created me to love me.”
In other words, God made me for Him to just simply love me. This one had me mind blown for a good couple of minutes.
Tonight we leave to go to the airport and spend the night there. I am so stoked and super excited to run this race (haha, get it)? Thank you to all of those who continue to pray for me, those of you who had supported me financially, those of you watching this journey (believer or not), those of you who have been in my corner since day one. Thank you to all.
2 Timothy 3:17, “God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work.”
