“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”

(Ephesians 6:10-12)

Our fight is not against flesh and blood. people who don’t know the Lord are full of flesh. I used to fill myself up with worldly things and a dash of Jesus. There would be this void in my mind, heart and soul when Jesus was not the centered source. When we fill our minds with unfruitful things like comparison, judgements, hate, lust, greed, shame, and condemnation, that is what we become. Our life has no meaning. The voids can’t stay full. We continually have to fill back up.

When Jesus is in us we are full and satisfied. Our minds are now filled with Grace, kindness, Love, compassion, goodness, and patience.

We can change our thinking when we look at someone who you disagree with and have grace. We can stop comparing ourselves to others and instead love our differences. We can see the brokenness and emptiness in someone and fill them up with our overflowing, never ending Love from God.

Because our fight isn’t against our neighbors. It is not against our friends or family. But against the evil forces in this world, that try to satisfy us when Jesus is not present. There is a lot of evil in this world. The devil will try to send out his demons to consume you. But there is only one Jesus, one God. He is enough to fill us completely and fully satisfy all of us.

We can fight against the evil with Gods Armor.

“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,”

(Ephesians 6:13-17)

Wow.

That makes me want to fill myself up with His word.

Is there something you are filling yourself up with more than Jesus?

I am learning to lean on God because He will fill me and give me the strength to speak about His truth. He will give me strength to fight the enemy. I have the opportunity to overflow the love God that is filled up in me, and pour it out into others who are being consumed with darkness. The same Holy Spirit is in us that raised Jesus Christ from the dead! What?! Thats so powerful. God just gave that to us. He gives freely to us. We just have to take is and receive it. We don’t have to earn His protection. We don’t have to know every part of his bible right now so He will love us more. We don’t have to do anything. He wants to love us and give us gifts.

Pray for those who are being persecuted.

“Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.”

(Ephesians 6:18-20)

I am learning to be more intentional with my prayers.

Praying ALL KINDS of prayers.

When there are times to just pray. Day in and day out.

I can also just sit in His presence. I can just be. Yet, when He wants me to speak, I want it to be an overflow of the armor of God. Speaking Truth.

When I feel helpless, and my words aren’t needed, but my ears are, I can sit and pray. I know the Holy Spirit is in me guiding me. The Armor of God is on me, in me and around me. Protecting me.

For King and Country’s song Fix My Eyes lyrics came to my mind while writing this blog:

Love like I’m not scared

Give when it’s not fair

Live life for another

Take time for a brother

Fight for the weak ones

Speak out for freedom

Find faith in the battle

Stand tall but above it all

Fix my eyes on You On You

Wow! Praise the One who has paid it all! and continually forgives and redeems us. Morning by morning new mercies He gives. It is so incredible that that amazingness lives in me! And can use me! Woah!!
