Dear friends & family,

Thank you so much for sticking with me through changes, updates, and sporadic posts. As some of you may or may not know, I very unexpectedly had to move back to my hometown of Spokane Washington in June to assist my family while my dad waited for and then underwent major surgery. The surgery went well and he is into recovery now, so thank you to everyone who has been praying and has helped in tangible ways. God has been so gracious to me in this season of transitions and unknowns. There is a lot of chaos, but there is even more joy! I feel like I’ve been training for a fight, and now I am seeing all of my training pay off as I put it into action.

As you’ve probably guessed, things are a bit up in the air with my World Race trip due to Covid. The Adventures In Missions team, and my advisor Austin have been doing an incredible job of keeping us as updated as possible, all while preparing for the future (whatever it may look like.) There is absolutely no question in my heart that I will go on my World Race journey, regardless of if it looks different than I imagined in route or in timing. I expect to know more details of what our trip will look like in 2 – 3 weeks, so I’ll be able to share more at that time.

In the meantime though, my squad is like none other. I can’t even begin to fully express in words the depth to which I love these people, despite never having met them. There is such an extraordinary anointing that I can feel every time I think of October 2020 squad, and all of my heart longs to stay with this team whenever we get to launch into the field. Our squad is already so tightly knit and living out community from all across the United States and the Netherlands! The way that I see my teammates pursuing relationship with Jesus and with each other leaves me in awe each day, and fills my heart near to bursting. I can’t wait to do life with them!

Thank you for your support and love, it means the world to me.

Much love,

Laina
