TRAVEL/CORONAVIRUS UPDATE:
Hello friends and family!!!
Many of you are reaching out and asking about how things are going considering the current circumstances of the world. First of all, thank you. I appreciate all of your concerns and prayers! I am deeply saddened to say that my squad and I are coming home to America. Adventures in Missions (AIM) is pulling out all missionaries from the field due to the prioritizing of our safety and all of the travel restrictions that are being placed as a result of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). While my squad and I are extremely sad about our early trip home, we completely understand and fully support AIM in their decisions.
MOST IMPORTANTLY:
I never could have imagined/planned that this could have happened. BUT, this was NOT a surprise to our God!! In the midst of chaos He is strong (John 16:33). He is sovereign. As Christians, we are called to be carriers of peace. Let us take advantage of this time to allow others to see the Spirit in us. Followers of Jesus are called to shine among all of the stars in the sky (Philippians 2:14-16); talk about a perfect time to do so! Do not let your heart and mind be ruled by fear. Lean on the Father and He will provide (Philippians 4:19). There is a bigger picture thing happening here guys, so as hard as it may be, my prayer is that we would be able to remove ourselves from circumstantial thinking.
With that being said, we are currently located in Bangkok, Thailand and have been since March 10th. We were supposed to have our debrief here until Sunday, but received the news of our departure yesterday morning. We fly out of Bangkok Wednesday morning and arrive in Atlanta Wednesday morning (we love time zones!!) for a final debrief/check-in before all of our departures home.
As for prayer, I ask that you would keep my squad and all other squads in your prayers as we all undergo travel back to the States. Prayer for our hearts and minds as transition back into Western culture will be difficult for us all. I also ask that you would keep AIM and all employees in your prayer as they are literally working around the clock to bring all of their 500+ missionaries back home safely.
Lastly, I do not know what our time immediately back in America will look like. The only information my squad and I have is our flight itinerary back home. If you have read this far, thank you guys for all of your continuous support and concern and I will try to keep you all updated!
