HELLO PARTY PEOPLE!

I hope all is well with you and yours! This letter is me giving you a little update on what Jesus was/is/will be doing in my life!

In September of 2020, I will be leaving the comfort and familiarity of the US to go on the World Race, which is a missional gap year run through a program called Adventures in Missions. Over the course of 9 months, I will be traveling to Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Eswatini to serve, work, love, learn, and grow in Christ.

Everyday on the Race will look different. One day could look like working alongside  teachers in a school teaching English. Other times we will be playing soccer with the neighborhood kids or walking through villages praying for people we encounter. Some days could just be loving on kids who have been affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

This past July, I moved to San Luis Obispo, California to attend Cuesta College with plans of getting a degree in nursing. However, over the course of the last few months the Lord has closed a lot of doors within work and school, making it pretty obvious that this is what I am meant to be doing. I have to say, I have never been more excited and nervous!

Fun fact: You also have the opportunity to be a part of this mission to expand God’s kingdom among the nations. To make this trip happen, I need to fundraise $15,800 by September of 2020. While this number may seem pretty daunting, I know that the Lord will provide out of his goodness and generosity. This money will cover all of the practical costs such as air/land/sea travel, meals, lodging, ministry costs, etc. You have the opportunity to touch the heart of someone across the world; that’s some cool stuff.

There are three ways in which I ask you to consider supporting me by:

  1. Prayer: please pray with me for my  journey pre-race and for my journey during the race!

  2. Connect: subscribe to my blog to follow along with updates while I’m out in the field and before launch!

  3. Financial Support: you can donate through my blog or send a check that I will deposit into my fundraising account! You can make the check out to ”Adventures in Missions”, and make sure to put “Karly Barlow” in the memo line!

Thank you for taking the time to read this! Now, let’s make heaven crowded.
