Hey everyone, I just wanted to update you all on some major changes that have happened these past few days to not only my team, but every World Race participant on the field.
As you all know, since the outbreak in China, coronavirus has spread All over the world. Because of this, some countries have decided to close their borders and restricted traveling. The higher ups at Adventures In Missions have taken precautions and recommendations from the World Health Organization and Center for Disease Control, and to ensure the safety of all their missionaries, they have made an executive decision to bring all participants of the World Race back to the United States immediately.
This was very sad and unfortunate news for our team, and it sucks that we have to cut our trip short. We had just finished our midway debrief, and were looking forward to our last 6 weeks at our new ministries. But we know God is working through all this, and we are constantly putting our trust in His sovereignty. There must be a reason God is calling us back home amidst all the fear and unrest.
Our team will be flying back to Atlanta, Georgia tomorrow around noon, and we will have a two day debrief (it‘ll be interesting, especially since we just had one too). That being said I’ll be coming home on Wednesday, March 18.
Hard to express my feelings through writing, especially since all this news was given to us so suddenly. Please continue praying for travel safeties and health as we head back to the States. See you all soon.
