Proverbs 19:21
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails”
Let me start this off by introducing myself… My name is Hannah, and the Lord has called me to mission work! I will be going with the World Race to Zambia for a month next summer (6/30-8/1) and I could not feel more blessed and excited for the mission work that Christ has called me to do. Let me rewind a bit to how I got here…
Like everyone who is young, we all feel invincible and like we can do anything and we don’t need any help… I’ve got news, we always need help and that help comes from God. This past year I had an overwhelming feeling and “tug” from God that I need to switch up my life and the choices that I was making and give it all to him. It took me a few months, but I hit a point where I couldn’t do things on my own and I said “okay God, I’ll give it all to you”… since then I have never felt such a sense of peace. I just felt God pulling me to mission work. I was constantly being “nudged” by him, but I didn’t know exactly where to start. I was working on making myself more available to him and all that he has to say to me. There is a song written by Hillsong United that is titled “As you find me”. While I was in my time of prayer and worship one night the lyrics just hit me “I was found before I was lost, I was yours before I was not”. We are given so much grace from Christ, the least I could do is follow through on his plans for wanting me to do mission work. He never leaves our side, even when we think we don’t him. He always finds us and wraps us in his grace…
Even though I had MY own plans on what I wanted to do… It was GODS plans for me that prevailed.
