After about 10 months of praying, dreaming, and planning I’ve finally made it to my new home for 3 months: Adventures in Mission’s base in Georgia! I have been here for 1 week, and let me tell you, it’s nothing like I expected. I began this journey excited to grow in the Lord, live in a new place, and to make new friends, but it has been so much more than that.
My time thus far on Gap Year has been a huge awakening. I never realized how many areas I could grow in, whether that means spending more time listening to Jesus, or being more mindful about how I use the earth’s resources. This new season of life has been stretching, because moving to an entirely new environment and forming bonds with this new family of mine is so out of my comfort zone. But at the same time God’s grace has been so prevalent through it all. Each day He shows me what I can learn from this process, and refreshes my faith through His peace.
I feel more and more at home here each day, and I’m falling in love with the long nature naps, bucket showers, and even separation from my phone. More importantly, I have gotten to see the true intentionality of my squad mates, and I feel so encouraged by their hearts for Jesus. Their passion for relationship and growth pushes me to evaluate the ways I can be strengthened by the Lord, and I am so grateful to see all that God will do in us over the next 9 months.
During my time here I have seen the Lord’s faithfulness and provision over and over again, and I cannot wait to share it with you! I hope you are all doing well! Thank you for coming along for the ride:)
