As many of you may know, I have been home since Thanksgiving. Our time on campus in between Thanksgiving and Christmas was cancelled and we went virtual. There was a covid outbreak and it was in everyone’s best interest if we did. I was heartbroken to not have that sweet time on campus before launching overseas on January 5th!! But God so graciously provided me with a peace about being home-Praise the Lord!!

This time in Nacogdoches has been a time of self-reflection, grieving, and family. When I say family I am not just talking about my blood. This may seem a little cheesy, but I’ve come to learn something about my small town, since being back home. We’re a family.

Since I was young I always HATED how going into Walmart almost always meant that you would probably see someone you knew. The awkward small talk and the constantly seeing people everywhere you go used to drive me insane!! In Georgia I would find myself going into a restaurant and scanning the room for familiar faces. I missed being back in Nac!

I realize now that God knew I needed to be home during this short little time long before I did. He is so good. Always. I thanked God for Covid-19 for the first time ever since being home.

With all that being said, we are still launching overseas on January 5th! Costa Rica baby!! It’s official even in the midst of all the covid craziness we’re launching to Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica! There we will be partnering with different ministries there. I still have about $4,000 to raise to be fully funded!

When I say my worst fear is that the Lord will call me to full time missions I mean it! Fundraising is hard. I have to put aside my pride and  relinquish control. It’s in the Lord’s hands,  I have to trust that He will work in the hearts of my supporters! If we’re still being able to launch overseas in a covid world-He’s more than capable. With that being said, I have just ordered prayer cards and will be sending them out as soon as they arrive here!

Let love be genuine, Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Romans 12:9-10
