Hi everyone!!

Sorry for the late update!! I’ve been doing life in the Dominican for the past month after a lot of hard goodbyes in Costa Rica. Honestly, this past month has been difficult in so many ways, but the Lord always provides in His perfect timing, and spoke this verse over my first month in the Dominican Republic.

James 1:2-4, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

As I walk into my last month on the field alongside the Lord, I am thankful for all the trials that He has walked with me through and will continue to walk me through, and the support of my fellow squad mates. While living in the Dominican, we have each faced our share of trials. I have struggled with understanding purpose behind my time here. Sometimes it’s really hot outside, ministry days are long, and heat exhaustion starts to get you, which leads to opens spaces that the enemy quickly steps into, which ends in doubt and confusion. I learned how to identify thoughts of the enemy, and pray against them, and partner alongside my squad mates in that as well. Also, this past month my family back at home has also faced a lot of trials, and it was difficult for me to accept the fact that I couldn’t be there, that I was called here for a reason, that I’m supposed to be overseas and that leaving to go home wasn’t an option on the table. I can’t imagine this crazy journey without my squadmates, and I am incredibly thankful for the blessing of one more month alongside them. I am also excited to continue learning about what perseverance through testing of faith looks like to healthy walk in, and how much growth it will bring.

Our ministry in the Dominican Republic looks like partnering with local churches, and walking around Dominican communities with pastors, translators, and church volunteers! Every day looks beautifully different, from sharing homemade bean juice with a sweet women, to being welcomed into houses, getting to know people and hear their stories. The diversity of people we meet and places we serve during ministry reminds me of the way the Lord describes heaven.

Revelation 7:9, “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitube that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.”

The Lord is moving in big ways here in the Dominican Republic, and I am excited to continue sharing stories and testimonies with all of y’all. Thank you so much for your endless support and love!
