Hi everyone!!
This topic has been on my heart lately, and the Lord keeps reminding me of this question through kids we meet during ministry as well as two sweet kiddos who visit us often, speak no English, but still find the most tender ways to be a friend.
Question: What would it look like to live out your faith daily like a child?
Knowing that you need help, that you need Jesus and always will. Living life like a child who depends on their parents in all needs and desires life brings. How can we live for God as his children, depending on Him in and for all things. Understanding the greatness the world desires isn’t the greatness that the Lord desires. The world wants accomplishments, power, and morality. The world looks to comparison to find greatness in those things. Greatness in the Lords eyes is full dependence on Him, humbling yourself because you know you need Jesus, knowing that you need the power of God to flow through you if you are truly impact others lives in this broken world. Greatness is humbling yourself, fully depending, and constantly deepening your faith in the Lord, much like a child to their parents.
In Matthew 18:1-6 Jesus is asked a question by his disciples. They ask, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” However, they asked this question while seeking a worldly answer, out of comparison of each other, seeking the Lord to giving them an answer only the world would give them. Jesus called a child over to enter their presence, then answered the question, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”
As we grow up, the world tells us to take on a mindset that pleases the world. The older we get, the harder it gets to avoid this mindset. Society starts to set our future in front of us, to expect things from us, to tell us what we need and why we need it. Our desires, goals, and dreams start to be designed for us by others. We may begin forgetting who we actually need and the way we need Him. We forget to depend on the Lord, and start to feel the brokenness of the world. Truth is, we are not called to live in the brokenness nor are we made to live in it. The Lord doesn’t see us as broken, but when we let anything that’s not the Lord have any say over us is when we start living in the brokenness. The Lord sees us as his beautiful children whom he loves perfectly. You don’t belong to this world, you all are loved children of God.
1 John 3:1, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.”
How great it is to be a son or daughter of the Lord? How great it is to embrace His love, understanding that we only need His love, and to embrace the call to His kingdom? It is too great for us to fully understand! What would happen to the world if we all embraced this gift of being loved by the Father? What would happen to the world if all Gods children radiated Him through his joy and love, so much so that their presence became His presence? The brokenness of the world would no longer exist.
So I ask again, what would it look like to live out your faith daily like a child? To depend on the Lord instead of the brokenness the world provides, to live humbling knowing that all you need is the Lord, and to walk through life knowing whose you are. The Lord is calling you into greatness as His beloved child.
This is something that I am still learning and walking through with the Lord, and know that I will always be growing in! I would love to talk more about this topic with you, please reach out with questions or comments!! You can contact me at [email protected] !!

Chloe 🙂
