Hey everyone!
So, you’ve come to my blog, you’re wondering whats up, well let me tell you!! I have been accepted for a World Race Semester trip to the Philippines in June! Now what exactly does that mean? I’ll fill you in –
What
The World Race is a Christ-centered organization that sends off mission trips that can be summed up by this statement, “We take the love of Jesus and share it with those who need it most: this includes 3 billion unreached people, 18 million orphans, 4.5 million sex slaves, 9 million in prisons, and 795 million who are undernourished.” I am specifically going on a World Race Semester trip, which means I will be going for a month in the summer.
Why
I chose to go on the World Race because I felt a calling to give back this summer. I have grown up going on mission trips since I was 13, going to Haiti a total of 6 times. I knew from my very first mission trip that I wanted to live my life to serve others across the globe. I found the World Race when a friend of mine went on the World Race Gap Year and when seeing the amazing work she did and the way it transformed her heart afterwards, I was inspired to pursue a trip through them. I looked through the World Race semester programs this summer just out of curiosity but when I found the Philippines trip, I felt that tug in my heart to go. In the Philippines, my group and I will be working through orphan care, discipleship, disaster relief, and medical missions, including birthing clinics (OMG)! I will be serving in a nursery, tutoring, distributing food and medicine, leading devotions, building relationships with the children, and participating in medical care. I will be gone May 28th through June 29th where I’ll begin with training camp in Georgia then I will leave for Manila on June 1st.
How
If you’re wondering how you can help me out, the answer is prayer and donations. I know that we all live the broke college life or are just on the struggle bus (me), but every dollar helps so so much. I have to raise $4,550 by June and being a full time college student and having a part-time job won’t get me there alone. If you are unable to make a donation, please keep me in your prayers! Pray that I can meet my fundraising needs and that everything goes smoothly and according to God’s plans. Please consider giving whatever you feel led to give or keep me in your prayers and thoughts. I appreciate those who even took the time to read this post and I am thankful for all of those who support me, it means the world.
Thanks for stopping by,
Caroline <3
