We are only here on this earth for a short time, and I do not want to waste a minute of it. I want to make a difference in the world. I think of how much time I have wasted in life with my phone, netflix, and things that don’t matter and serve as a distraction. I could sit on instagram or pinterest for hours. But what good is that doing to me and others around me.These questions keep coming to my mind. “Why are we here? What is my Purpose?” God placed each of us in a specific area to bring others to Christ and show them love. I have learned it is important being fully present with the relationships around me. These people I have are only temporary and who knows what will happen tomorrow or the next day. I need to focus on investing and blessing those around me.
“I wish I could bring so much more. You use BROKEN THINGS” Here I am Lord, I am all yours.
I prayed to God at the end of 2018 to give me a word for the year. For Christmas my mom bought me a cute room decor with Luke 11:9 verse on it. Luke 11:9 says, “Ask and it will be given to you, Seek and you will find, Knock and the door will be opened to you.” I have heard that verse multiple times before but didn’t really think much about it or apply it to my life.Later that day though the verse of the day on my phone popped up and it was the same verse, Luke 11:9! Then the next day, my mom was reading her bible and she started reading a verse out loud, “Seek His kingdom first and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you.” I read those verses over and over trying to hear what God wanted me to learn, and the word SEEK stood out. God knew I needed to seek Him more and learn who He is and my identity in Him. Woah, God is so good!
At the beginning of the year I wrote down my hopes, dreams, and prayers for the year. My hope for 2019 was to be fearless in sharing Jesus with others. When I found out I was going to graduate early, I wanted to fill that last semester with something amazing before I started my career as a teacher. I was praying that God would lead me and present me with a life-changing oppurtunity and the world race semester program presented itself to me. I felt called to the Thailand and Cambodia trip since it has always been my dream to teach engligh abroad and share God’s love to children and people around the world! I am so excited to go on this journey and see where God is leading me to!
