I’m ready. Never thought I’d feel confident and bold enough to say that genuinely in my heart. My squad and I launch for Australia and for the Race in 5 days. Incredible – it’s finally coming! AHHHHH. The joy and excitement is coming to the surface as the date gets closer. However something rings true in my heart that a good friend of mine told me a couple of months ago. After praying over me for the trip, He stopped and said “Brent, remember you are already on the world race”, reminding me to be present, reminding me that each moment is precious. Every day is a chance to love someone that needs it, to be an example of Christ, to walk and surrender to God in every moment. So reminding myself of this truth coming up until launch has given me lots of peace. A reminder to be present with my family and the friends around me before I leave. A reminder to stay strong and bold in my faith. It hasn’t been easy, and at times I’ve felt attacked, alone, disencourage, and asking myself how in the world did I get to this point. I’m still working on my heart, God is still working in my heart, and I cannot wait to see how He will move in my own life and the lives of all we encounter throughout the world these next eleven months. I’m ready to see my heart tested, grown, freed, set on fire, and above all connect with my teammates and strangers on levels that only Jesus can bring forth. I cannot wait to serve. I expect to fall deeper in love with God in so many ways and in turn in love with life itself. I expect my faith to sprout deeper roots within, and to be a instrument in bringing others to know the never ending, always present and beautiful love of God.
What we speak over ourselves changes everything. Speak freedom, speak love, speak joy. Speak with boldness and from a place of freedom. Speak with gentleness and kindness because it’s all we are left with when we truly surrender it all to a God of love. To a God whose love is so deep, so powerful, so real. These are just a few of things the Holy Spirit has been speaking to me tonight and coming up to Launch. I pray this trip inspires you all in someway to fall deeper into life, whatever that may look like for you. I hope you see God’s love for YOU through my testimony and joy. We are all meant to have our own story with God. I pray you seek Him, and fall in love with the wonder that is always surrounding you.
