Hey friends!
Most of my fundraising so far has been through sending support letters to people and following up on those, and I thought it would be a good idea to share it on here too so that more people can see it ๐ Let me know if you have any questions!!
I’m excited to share that after finishing high school, I have decided to step out in faith and go on the World Race: Gap Year.
The World Race is a program through Adventures in Missions, an interdenominational nonprofit missions organization that focuses on discipling and training Christians to spread the Gospel. Established in 1989, it has brought over 100,000 people to the mission field. World Race: Gap Year is their program for 18-20-year-olds and is a 9-month mission trip to 3 countries around the world. Prayerfully, by the end of the Race I will have a strong foundation in God as I begin college.
In September 2020, I will be traveling to eSwatini (formerly Swaziland), Ethiopia, and Cambodia. I will live in each country for three months, serving alongside local ministries. Although each country, month, week, and even day will look different, some of the things my team will be doing includes: teaching English, ministering to Swazi children impacted by the HIV/AIDS epidemic, evangelism, partnering with HOPEthiopia to show God’s love to children and the elderly, and community outreach in Cambodia. I genuinely feel that the Lord has called me to spend my first year out of high school serving Him in radical ways, and I think the World Race will be that perfect opportunity.
I will face many challenges throughout the Race, and one of my greatest challenges is raising financial support. Like most mission organizations, World Race participants are required to raise financial support to cover the costs of their trip. The full support goal for my World Race is $15,800. This money will cover all of my expenses for the 11 months – travel, food, lodging, and insurance. While that number can seem overwhelming at times, I’m trusting that God will lead people to partner with me in this.
How you can help:
-
Pray! Pray for me and my team as we prepare to go on this journey, for the communities we will be living in and serving with, and that above all, His name will be glorified in the work that we do.
-
Donate! $15,800 is a lot of money and I can’t get there on my own. As I take this large step of faith in trusting the Lord, would you prayerfully consider joining me by contributing a monthly donation or a one-time donation? You can give money directly to me, donate on my blog, or send a check in the mail using the attached fundraising card. Let me know if you have any questions about the process/use of funds.*
You can visit my blog at anjalijoy.theworldrace.org to find out more, set up donations, and follow my journey! I will be in touch with you soon (either by phone or email) to follow-up and answer questions you might have ๐
Yours in Christ,
Anjali Joy ๐
