When we think of fear we typically think of your fear of spiders, heights, speaking in public, and so on. But when you see fear in the Bible over 80 times it says to “fear not.” God calls us not to fear or worry about things, because in all reality we can’t control anything even though we think we can. Maybe when we think of fear we also think about the “Fear of God” well the “Fear of God” refers to fear or a specific sense of respect, awe, and submission to God. Fear can be used as a good thing or a bad thing it is all in how we respond to the situation or season each of us are in right now.
Fearless. When we see people being fearless we probably tend to think of heroic acts by people like pulling someone out of the way of a moving obstacle or someone stopping something bad from happening. But when we look at what it means to be fearless in the Bible most of us probably tend to go to Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Or we think of Psalms 27:1 “The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear?” We have been redeemed, we have been called by His name, and we are His! Just because the devil does not want us to succeed, just because he wants to keep us in fear does not mean we should let him.
We are to be strong and courageous even when we can’t always see the light at the end of the tunnel. We are the sparkle in God’s eye, we are precious and strong, he has not made us weak so do not let the devil succeed and keep you in fear, do not let him succeed and hold you back from the calling that God has for your life. I challenge you sometime this week to take something you fear and declare victory, change the fear inside you to become fearless. So are we going to continue to live in fear of what may or may not happen or are we going to be fearless in the season we are in and persevere in what God has called us to do. So I will leave you with this, “Do the thing you fear to do and keep on doing it… That is the quickest and surest way ever yet discovered to Conquer Fear.” Don’t let fear hold you back let it help you conquer what you fear in your life.
