When you think about the name of Jesus, what is the first name that comes to your mind?

Is it Savior, Redeemer, Healer, The Cross, a Dove, Miracle Worker, Messiah, Creator, Beloved Son, Prince of Peace, Master, King of the Jews, Teacher, Immanuel, Mediator, Advocate, Judge, Lamb of God, Good Shepherd, Living Water and so on. Did anyone think of Victor? While all these things describe the Son of Man in so many different ways none of them describe Victory. I think that sometimes we think of the names of God as a list of all the things that He is but some of the things that I have learned over the past few years is that Victory is the name of Jesus! He has won every battle we have ever faced. He will win every battle we will go through today, tomorrow, a month from now and for the rest of our lives until we meet him again at the gates of Heaven.

Victory comes hand in hand with the name of Jesus, so what God has been showing me is that I have to use the name of Jesus in every battle that I come up against, that I have to declare His name in every tough situation that I will come against before I launch in January, while I am on the Race and every day after the Race ends. God is teaching me a lot of things before I launch and here are just some of the things that He is teaching me.

The first one is with Jesus comes truth and sometimes we think truth is a what but that is not true, Truth in every form is a who, It brings life to those who believe in the name of Jesus, it may be hard to hear sometimes but it does in the short run or in the long run bring life. Truth brings victory because it shines light on every aspect of who we are whether we enjoy it or not, the truth does not change, it does not falter, and it will not fail you.

The second thing that God has been showing me is that the devil does not attack in the first season, maybe not even the 2nd season but maybe he will attack in the 3rd or 4th season, when we are emotionally attached to something, he will attack even when we may not see it at the time. When I am personally attacked by him I have to remind myself that I must be doing something right because he does not attack when we are just minding our own business in our own little world. Satan would not be attacking me if I wasn’t pursuing God. So, in every situation I have to see that there will be victory at the end of the tunnel, that there will be light even if there is some darkness.

The third thing that God is teaching me is that in every situation Jesus is my victory. Even in the worst storm I have ever had in my life he is victory and he has already decided the outcome in this battle, in the struggles and in the trials I am in right now.

The fourth thing that I am learning from God right now is that if I want to change the atmosphere around me and around other people is that I have to have the courage to enter a room where I may not be welcome with a spirit of boldness. That I have to stand in the face of criticism and not let it affect me and lastly I have to know that it will cost me being popular in the secular world, it may set me back in the world I live in, but what I get in return is far greater than anything this world could ever offer me which is peace that surpasses all understanding and the love of My God that I could not even fathom.

To be able to change the atmosphere is not a small task, it is a big task, that takes courage, boldness and a willing heart to say yes to the task of changing the atmosphere. A lot of times we feel safe and warm in our own atmosphere, but in order to change the atmosphere that you are in and to see victory unfold in front of your eyes you have to step out of your comfort zone and say yes to God to change the atmosphere that is around you and the people you love but to also change the atmosphere in a room full of people that you don’t know.

The fifth and final thing that God has been teaching me is that as soon as you let yourself fall apart and be broken in front of God, he will renew you and will restart your journey with a “clean slate.”

To everyone who is reading this I hope that me sharing everything that I put in this blog will bring comfort and encouragement to someone who needs it or to put into perspective something you may have never thought of. I hope that the one thing you get out of this is that in every situation his name is victory and he has gone ahead of you and won the battle, He has already put in motion a breakthrough in your life.
