Hey friends and family!

I hope y’all are doing well! As you probably already know since you’re reading this blog, I have some really exciting news to share! Instead of going to college next year, I have decided to take a different step of faith by going on the World Race: Gap Year.

The World Race became the next natural step for me after realizing my growing passions to love and serve others as well as travel the globe. The World Race is a program under Adventures in Missions and is a nonprofit missions organization that focuses on discipleship, prayer, and the relationship between God and his people. Established in 1989, it has brought over 100,000 people into the mission field. I am beyond excited to have been accepted into this program in order to serve the Lord on a global scale and actively spread love to different nations.

In September 2020, I will be leaving to serve in Guatemala, Ecuador, and Nepal. My team and I will live in each country for three months. While each country, month, week, and day will look different, some of our work will include: ministering to children living on the streets, serving in hospitals for special need patients, spending time in elderly homes, evangelizing, and teaching English.

So, what’s the coolest part? YOU have an opportunity to participate in this and help get me where I need to be! There are two easy ways to partner with me on this crazy adventure.

Prayer:

    • Prayers for my team and I as we learn to delight in our new and most likely dysfunctional community. We will be living in tents and spending LOTS of time together. Pray that each of us would use our gifts to bring Him glory, encourage one another, and be a light in each country we touch.
    • Prayers for every person we encounter. Pray that we can use our stories and actions to make connections, bring others to Christ, and form relationships lasting into eternity.
    • Prayers for the fundraising of the $16,000 I need to raise to come at just the right time.

Financial Support:

As I said, I have the responsibility and privilege to raise $16,000. I have already been completely humbled and blessed by the Lord’s provision in this area! I know you put a lot of thought and prayer into where your resources go and I ask that you would consider partnering with me on this adventure. This target amount includes the costs of training, travel, food, and other necessities while abroad. I believe this is something the Lord has called me to and I trust that He will be faithful to provide. All I ask is that you would pray about partnering with me in this mission. While you may not physically be able to join me, you are still doing Kingdom work by enabling me to walk out this path! I am also available to work for you and would be glad to serve you however I can. Even if it’s something really random, I’m your girl!

There are two ways you can financially donate and join my support team:

    • Via my blog: https://abbydriskill.theworldrace.org which you’re already on! If giving online does not work for you, I will be happy to give you information for a check. This blog serves as the main place for making donations and following along my journey. Subscribe if you would like to stay in the loop!

Thank you so much for reading this far! I am beyond excited for this next adventure, what the Lord has in store, and the fact that you get to follow along. If you want to talk or have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. I would love to have coffee or talk over the phone! My number is (501)707-8696 and my email is [email protected]. Please know that your love and support mean the world to me. I’ve already been overwhelmed with countless smiling faces, warm embraces, and support. I am so thankful for you and the impact you’ve had in my life, big or small!

Much love,

Abby Driskill
