The What?
The World Race is a mission trip to 11 countries in 11 months. It is all about going into each country and proclaiming the love of Jesus Christ through ministries such as feeding the hungry, praying over the sick, teaching the lost, preaching the Name of Jesus to people who may have never heard of it before, constructing a new building for the local missionaries, prison ministry, and door to door evangelism (just to name a few).
The Why.
Matthew 28:18-20
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.
Jesus called everyone that has called upon His name to go into all the nations and preach His word! For some people, that means going to your next door neighbor, and for others, it means to scatter all over the world proclaiming his Good News!
The Where.
The World Race does many different routes but for me and my team, it is the Expedition Route. The Expedition Route is all about going into the more unreached people groups and harder to reach areas of the world. We will be going to Australia, Indonesia, India, Nepal, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Spain, and Morocco.
The When.
Before we head off to the mission field, we must first attend an extreme 10-day training camp in Gainesville, Georgia in mid-October. At the training camp, we will learn how to work abroad in different countries, how to live an abandonment lifestyle and get a taste of what the community living will be overseas.
In early January 2020, we will ship off to our assigned country for the month.
