As americans we are very used to the fast movements of our lives; if we are not constantly moving we are lazy and useless. I am SO guilty of this. If I am not 15 minutes early, multitasking, and drowning in stress and work than I am unproductive. Who taught us this lifestyle? Sometimes sitting with the Lord or in community is enough. I have never felt so nourished, mentally, spiritually, and physically. Here is our typical schedule here in Cambodia:
breakfast at 7:30
personal time (aka call home and quiet time): 8-9
work at orphanage: sometimes this is us pulling weeds or shoveling trash or sometimes it is simply us being in community with the children. 9-whenever we finish
lunch: 12
relax: 12:30- 2
teach the younger kids english: 2-3ish
team time: 3-4 ish
personal time: sometimes this is playing a million card games, or walking to the market, or deep talks, or honestly a nap. 4-5:30
dinner: 5:30- 6
personal time: 6-7
teach english to the older kids: 7-8ish
there is such beauty in slowing down.
