Today is Sabbath, so we’re not at ministry and I have the opportunity to share another blog I wrote earlier in the week. Could be a while before we have the opportunity to get back on the internet though. That’s life when you’re in a little village in a country where sadly Wi-Fi has been largely cut out.

Adjusting to Georgia and then to Nicaragua and a very dusty work field has been a little bit of torture for my body. My allergies have not liked one minute of the adjustment. My cough is terrible, and those of you who know me can fully imagine what I’m talking about, which I didn’t do much of yesterday because I didn’t have much voice. Today I’m definitely better, but the dust at the work site is definitely not my best friend.

But that’s ok because I get to see Jesus because of my struggles. I get to see Jesus through my wonderful TNT teammates. I am blessed with a team of compassionate, patient, and understanding Christ-followers. I hope and pray we all maintain this identity all 11 months, even when times are hard.

Let me tell you, my teammates are driven, hard workers. Their desire is for completing this construction. I share some of their compassion, but it has been harder for me to work toward the goal. I get tired quickly, have to take many extra cough breaks, and am just a bit fragile.

As I said in the last blog, I asked God for some construction ministry on our trip. You really should be careful what you ask for because God is using the construction this month to highlight my weaknesses and the strengths of our team. These girls and the people we have been working with, which seems to be the entire community, have been so patient with me. Their focus has been on the task and God’s love, not on correcting one another or finding reasons to be jealous (I’m not jealous either because I just get a different perspective within something I’m used to.)

So, I just want to challenge everyone to love like my team loves and focus like my team focuses and be as patient with each other as they have been with me.

And pray for us that we will be able to maintain this love like Jesus for 11 months.
