I got sick. Last Thursday I woke up with a lot of stomach pain and had no desire to even think about food. That afternoon I threw-up and thought I had gotten food poisoning because afterwards I felt a bit better. But the following day, after breakfast settled, I started having more stomach pain. I went and payed down for a bit but when I felt myself start running a fever I asked for a thermometer to check my temp. I was running at 103.2 degrees Fahrenheit. At that point they decided to send me to the doctor. Since I couldn’t stand or walk for more then maybe a minute at a time the field mento, Mae, drove me to the hospital. My teammate Chelsey also came for moral support. We got to the hospital and the doctor examined me, gave me a shot for the fever and general pain, then sent me upstairs to get blood, urine, and stool tests done. The tests showed that I didn’t have Dengue, but I did have a UTI, and apparently a parasite also. I was prescribed all the necessary medicines and have been really good about taking them at the appropriate times.
I am now feeling much better and am almost done with all my medicine. I filled out my incident report and luckily only missed two days of ministry. Thanks be to God for leadership that watches out for us, and doctors who are skilled at what they do. And thank you to everyone who lifted me up in prayer. And a huge thank you to my mom who was there when I called and helped make sure I got the help I needed, love you mom!
