Hey everyone just a few more updates from this week.

September 17, 2019

I just finished reading “Soul Detox” by Craig Groeschel. I’ll be honest most of what was in the book was stuff I’ve heard all my life. But sometimes it takes being told just one more time for it to truly sink in and for me to take it to heart. I don’t yet know exactly what God wants me to do with these now accepted truths, but I do know that there will be things He’ll have me change and that those changes are what’s best. I pray for a willing heart. To except what God calls me to change, trusting Him to help me do it.

Today we got to our ministry site at 9am and started the day with House Visits. The group I went with visited the homes of girls who were supposed to come to soccer practice at the field One Way Community has it at. We asked why they hadn’t beet at the practices and encouraged them to start coming again. At the end of each visit we prayed for the girls and their families.

After we were done with our House Visits we surprised one of the kids who was at ministry yesterday. Today was her birthday so we went to her house and celebrated with her. The One Way Community leaders brought her a gift and her family made us lunch which we ate with the birthday girl.

When we finished lunch we made our way to the house and field we do ministry at. Today we got to play with and get to know the little little kids we‘re ministering to. Near the end of the day a few of the kids kinda latched onto me, so l was asked to go sit with the kids so that they would pay attention to the story that was being told.

As the second week in Guatemala comes to a close I am surprised that I haven’t felt homesick. Don’t get me wrong, there are times I find myself thinking about home, but not in a “homesick” way. I’m not complaining but I do find it interesting. I’m sure it’ll hit me sooner or later.

Right now it’s about 12:20pm and at 1pm my team and I will leave for San Lorenzo. Today for ministry we will be doing House Visits, and that’ll start around 2pm. I don’t know exactly when we’ll be done but we normally get back to the base within the hour of 5pm.

With it getting close to October I have a fundraising deadline also getting close. By October 6th I need to be at $8500. The last time I was able to check I was at $7655 as my fundraising total. That means I am $845 from my next goal, and $8945 from being fully funded. I ask that if you are reading this please prayerfully consider partnering with me so that I can continue to be the hands and feet of Christ here in Guatemala and later in Ethiopia and Thailand.

September 20, 2019 (Part 2)

We got back from ministry just in time to help serve dinner, which was our chore for the day. Ministry went good. Like I said we did House Visits, so we split into two groups and altogether we visited 7 houses. The group I was with visited three houses and gave bags of food to two of them. We went into each house and talked to the families and got to pray for specific needs that they had. The families were so welcoming and thankful we had come. I love getting to know the families that I’m here to serve.

*An update on the fundraising numbers: i am actually at $7675 as my total. So I am $825 away from my goal and $8925 from fully funded.
