1: Training camp was awesome!
The genuine community I built with my squad and team was truly a blessing. I learned so much about what my life will be looking like for nine months. I got to try new foods and learn about different cultures. I learned that I can live out of my tent if I need to. Over the 11 days I was there my relationship with God has grown so much. I have connected with that Lord in such a deep and personal way.
2: Training camp was HARD!
Training camp wasn’t all fun times and laughter. Training camp was outside during the hottest part of Georgia summer. It was a lot of walking up and down the same hills to get to where you needed to be. It was being pushed out of my comfort-zone. Personally it was a mental test for me to find out if I could handle the separation from my family and friends. Part of it was a 2 mile hike that had to be done in 38 minutes. And part of it was God coming in and breaking down walls that I thought were protecting me but were really just hindering me.
3: Training camp was real.
If you had asked me back in May if I had any idea what to expect from Training Camp I would have told you very truthfully that I had no clue. And if you had asked me mid June if I thought I would actually make it to Training Camp, I probably told you I had no idea. But I did. Training camp happened and I was there. By a miracle I was there. I cannot tell you how grateful I am to all my supporters who are helping turn my dreams into a reality. I am getting to live out a dream the God placed on my heart when I was 10 years old. God never forgot my dream and He is not only fulfilling it, but He has upgraded it. And not only was Training Camp real, but so were the people I met there. The people who are leading my squad are some of the most real and genuine people I have ever met. My squad-mates are the same way. None of us felt we had to hide who we are because each of us helped create an atmosphere that was welcoming and accepting from day 1.
