Today I was baptized in Lake Nicaragua, off the shore of Ometepe Island, Nicaragua. What an incredible experience! I had already dedicated my life to the Lord, but never took that step of obedience to be baptized by my own choice. I was sprinkled as a baby, but that was more of a commitment for my parents, not a commitment on my end. Today I decided to say yes to God and be baptized. The old me was washed away in the waves (which were very strong) and I was brought up new!

Even though I have walked with Christ most of my life, today I make the change of saying “yes” when God asks me. Not saying, “in a little bit,” or, “maybe tomorrow.” I will say yes with a joyful heart!

I love the Lord so much, and I’m so thankful for the ways He has blessed me so abundantly. My first few days here at Cicrin, I would lay in one of the hammocks in the pavilion overlooking the lake and think to myself, “I wonder what it would be like to be baptized on this trip.” And now I know. Today I made the choice, I made the commitment, and I am so excited!

Thank you, family and friends, for always supporting me and loving me. Thank you for staying updated with my journey, and I’m so thankful I get to share this amazing news with you all!!

With so much love and a joyful heart, Rachel <3
