Hey everyone! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted last so I am just going to give you some super sweet updates and God things!
For one, our time in Lake Charles Louisiana has been extended. We are going to be able to be a light in the darkness for two weeks instead of one down there so we are all super excited for that. We actually head out tomorrow at 5:30am (ugh lol) for the 11 hour drive down. We would appreciate prayer for safe travels and for our time and work being done bringing Jesus and hope to the broken communities. We are so privileged to be working with Samaritan’s Purse and I can’t wait to give you all more updates on how God is going to move! ๐
Another exciting thing… I will soon post my first vlog. If you don’t know what a vlog is, it’s just a blog but in video form. I have been working on it for the past two weeks and I’m going to try to get it done tonight so I can post it before we head out for LA. I will also be creating a vlog after our trip down there. Basically the vlog is just a week in the life on the WR in Gainesville Georgia. I wanted you all to see viewable what life is like here.
Now speaking of that… because the video took 2 weeks to create, some things have changed. One example I can give you which was such a blessing from the Lord is that we were able to join all the other squads during session time. We were outside and social distancing but it was so incredible to be in everyone’s presence. I actually cried! Due to covid19, so many opportunities have been taken from us on campus. We have to wear masks, we have to social distance from other squads, this means no eating together, having sessions together, or being together at all. Its truly sad so the the fact that we were all allowed to be in ONE space for “One Race” coming to speak to us was so amazing.
Other ways things are changing around here is that in the beginning we were not allowed to leave campus at all (unless it was for an emergency or medical issue). Now squads are as you know launching to Louisiana and on certain days squads are even allowed to go out and do some local ministry. Things are beginning to turn around slightly. Opportunities are beginning to open up and I’m so thankful.
So yes! God is so good and good things are happening! I cant wait to post my vlog and when I do you will all have a better understanding of some of the things I talk about like devos, sessions, etc. ๐
Oh! Also… I ate a thousand year old egg and a cricket! XD The egg was gross and rubbery but the cricket wasn’t that bad because they flavored it well. It was very salty, However the thought of having a bug in my mouth and swallowing it was so gross! (Haha) Also… the egg is not actually 1,000 years old, it’s just an egg that was buried under ground for a year and then taken out to eat. It’s a delicacy in some other countries. You will see some of this filmage on the vlog. Lol
Anyway, thats all I really have for you guys now. I’m going to work on finishing my vlog and hopefully post that tonight. If you have any questions for me please never be afraid to reach out and ask via the comments section, email, text, etc. I would love to answer them or share with you more intentionally all that God is doing here or what life is like here. I know you all think I am busy and I am but I love you guys and I will always find the time to respond.
Thanks for reading this little update. Love you all and praying for you all!
Many Blessings,
Alex ๐
